• Whether the proposed mechanism is clinically capable of causing the injury alleged.
• How timing, presentation and objective findings support or weaken the proposed causal link.
• Whether pre-existing disease, degeneration or later events provide an alternative explanation.
• Whether the question is one for a treating discipline, radiology, pathology, toxicology or epidemiology.
• What can be said about acceleration, exacerbation or prognosis within the limits of the evidence.
