barristers and medical experts across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland
use this website. We handle personal data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data
Protection Act 2018.
ExpertSearch is a directory that helps referring solicitors and barristers find
suitable medical expert witnesses. We collect only the information we need to operate
the directory, respond to enquiries and process applications from experts. We do not
sell personal data.

Information you give us
- Enquiry details. When a referring solicitor or barrister contacts an
expert or submits an enquiry, we collect the name, firm or chambers, email address,
telephone number and any case background you choose to include. - Expert applications. When a medical practitioner applies to be listed,
we collect professional details such as name, specialty, qualifications, registration
body, regions covered across the four UK nations, contact details and supporting
documents. - Correspondence. Records of messages, emails and notes when you contact us.
Information we collect automatically
- Technical data. IP address, browser type, device information and pages
viewed, collected through cookies and similar technologies. - Usage data. Information about how the directory is used, for example
searches run and links followed, used to maintain and improve the service.

How we use information, and our lawful bases
Under the UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using personal data. We rely on the
bases set out below.
- To operate the directory and pass on enquiries. Lawful basis:
